Citibus Status for January 4, 2016

Citibus is completly operational today, please be careful loading and unloading the bus as there are still many ice spots on the roads and sidewalks.

New Route to the DPS Every Wednesday Runs From 9:20 am -4:50 pm

Citizens of Lubbock will now have the opportunity to ride Citibus to the DPS located at 1404 Lubbock Business Park Blvd. Suite 100, from Citibus Downtown Transfer Plaza (DTP) located at 801 Broadway.

The new bus route will begin on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 and run only on Wednesday’s, which is the least congested day for the DPS.  If the demand of the route is supported by the public, it has a potential to expand to more days in the future.

The round trip cost is $3.50, which is the regular price of an all-day bus pass or a one way trip is the regular fare of $1.75.

The new route will also include stops at the Kings Dominion Housing Development located at 910 N. MLK Blvd.

Route Change for DPS

On November 25th, the DPS will close at noon so we will be following their schedule on that day.Notice of

Re:  City of Lubbock/Citibus grant applications for the 2015 fiscal year (October 2014-September 2015):

-       Section 5307 formula funding for operating, planning and capital projects;

-       Section 5310 funding for operating and vehicle replacement

-       Section 5339 funding for vehicle replacement

 

Notice is hereby given that an opportunity for a public hearing will occur in conjunction with the Lubbock Public Transit Advisory Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at 12:00pm at the Citibus Conference Room, 801 Texas Avenue.  The purpose of this hearing is to consider financial assistance under the Federal Transit Act of 1964, as amended, for the following programs:

Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Grant Funds – The 5307 program cost is estimated at $4,204,992, of which $3,157,670 will be provided by FTA Section 5307 funds and $1,047,322 as local match. TxDOT will contribute $615,439 for operating assistance only, with $615,439 as local match.  This funding will be used for preventive maintenance, non-fixed route ADA services, operating, planning, Jobs Access Reverse Commute (JARC) funding and miscellaneous capital improvements including passenger amenities and security upgrades.

Section 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Funds – This program cost is estimated at $258,905, of which $199,016 will be provided by the FTA and $59,889 as local match.  These funds will be used to purchase ADA Paratransit vehicle(s), fund a Mobility Manager and to subsidize CitiAccess extended service area trips and the NiteRide service costs.

Section 5339 Bus & Bus Facilities Funds – This program cost is estimated at $343,413 and a request has been submitted to the Texas Department of Transportation for the award of 68,683 Transportation Development Credits that will serve as the local match. The funds will be used to purchase ADA Paratransit vehicle(s) and Transit Supervisor vehicle(s) to replace other outdated ADA Paratransit vehicles and Transit Supervisor vehicles that have surpassed their useful life.
